Glad that I took the opportunity to go to the movies to see the documentary Fed Up. It was the causes of the obesity epidemic in America and how political and private forces are responsible for many of the issues related to that subject. They followed the lives of several families and focused on their teenagers, and interspersed their personal stories with information from researchers, doctors, and government figures like Bill Clinton who since his heart surgery has tried to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. What was scary was the addiction to sugar, the effects of advertising on eating habits, and how some people do not realize that the labels low fat or reduced calorie do not necessarily result in increased nutritional value because of the sugar thats added to create flavor when other things like the fat are taken out. Definitely leaves the viewer with food for thought...
