Glasgow welcomes the world today, to compete in the 20th Commonwealth Games. Years of planning, investment and commitment, plus huge amounts of goodwill from residents, official volunteers and staff alike, will hopefully allow all competitors to do their best for all their countries, and for themselves. From the likes of Canada, India, Australia and South Africa to the small nation islands of the Pacific and Indian Oceans; and not forgetting our near neighbours in England, Wales, N Ireland, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey. Welcome all, to the dear, green place we call home. Let the Games begin.....!!!!!
