Glorious day for a run! I was invited to become a member of the Over the Water Gang relay team in todays Cape Cod Marathon. Im very happy to report that in my post knee surgery you should never run again era I have made very good progress and did much better than I thought I would. I enjoyed every meter of my 10K segment. It was a perfect day for a run ... mostly clear, beautiful blue skies, little wind, and 50 degrees F. I got to run along the Vineyard Sound, Falmouth Harbor, and through some lovely neighborhoods in Falmouth I never knew existed. Cindy and her colleague Andrew brought our Brompton fold-up bikes over and were able to cheer me and everyone else on along the route. The team finished in 4 hours ... not bad for a bunch of old guys. Even though I was the oldest by far and had the most grandkids, I was neither the fastest nor slowest. The fastest pace setter had to buy the beers on the ferry back home. We voted to do this again when we were all in our seventies ... 10 years from now! :-)
