Glory to masochists, glory! Together with Yuriy Husyev we passed through the most intertaining self-torture procedure - we visited the biggest factory in Europe producing specialized footwear and got lots of pleasure. To cut it short, YDS company produces from 5 to 6 million (!) pairs of footwear per year, it is an exclusive supplier of Armed Forces of Turkish Republic and is also supplying footwear to the militaristic structures of 27 other countries. Researching, testing, designing, producing, controlling. First time in my life I saw the trial laboratory for footwear. First time in my life I also saw the storage of leather with the stock value amounting to 50 million dollars. I saw many things for the first time in my life. I will add a comment to each photo and now I do just bare listing of facts in the post... 1) Military boots are developed during one year, the suggestions of the GENERAL survey of all military men are collected - it is done at the expense of the company. 2) The company is obliged to provide 5 trial models once in two years, following the trial results one of them is chosen and its maas production is started - it is done at the expense of the company. 3) Each model passes 50 tests in certified laboratories. Each day (daily production is more than 10 000 pairs) 10 pairs are passing the whole cycle of tests - it is done at the expense of the company. 4) Military boots are produced using components of leading producers: Gore-Tex, Vibram, Cordura, BASF. 5) Retail price of one pair in the company shop - 80$. Hmmm... Many years our army gets boots supplied by one company - TalanLegProm. Without any alternative. The cost of one pair at the exchange rate at the moment of the latest tender - 40$. Its without Gore-Tex and the rest... These boots are called 1000 steps in the army and I am even afraid to guess the reason. I would really like to see the trial laboratory and the center of development of new models of this company. True?
