Go Spurs Show: paying tribute to the home team Studio One Zero Three is proud to present the group exhibition Go Spurs Show: paying tribute to the home team. Curated by Rigoberto Luna, the exhibit is an artistic tribute and convergence of professional basketball and fine arts, on November 7, 2014. The exhibition brings together over 20 local artists and performers whose work was inspired by and pays homage to San Antonios beloved basketball franchise. Sharing a love for the Spurs, artists will present works in mixed media, drawing, painting, sculpture, silkscreen, poetry and music Few things unite the people of San Antonio like our Spurs - people of all ages, political views and ethnicity can come together and put their differences aside to cheer on the Silver and Black. The fervor that engulfs the city during the playoffs is unavoidable, even to the most casual of fans. With the start of a new season and the raising of our fifth championship banner, Studio One Zero Three found it appropriate to bring together a group of artists from various disciplines and backgrounds to celebrate what it means to be a fan of the San Antonio Spurs. Artists include David Almaguer, Albert Alvarez, Avi Avalos, David Blancas, Louie Chavez, Agosto Cuellar, Turtle Cruz, Jenelle Esparza, Ana Fernandez, Adriana M J Garcia, Robert B Gonzales, Raygun Johns, Mat Kubo, Destiny Mata, Amada Claire Miller, Chris Montoya, Mark Olivares, Juan Miguel Ramos, Christian Amadeus Rodriguez, Ed Saavedra, Ethel Shipton, Vincent Valdez, and Jake Zollie Harper. The opening night reception features performances by three-time National Grand Slam Poetry Champions Anthony ThePoet and Amanda Flores, who will present original Spurs slam poetry. Live musical performances by Executive Realness, Ghostpizza, and Snowbyrd. Go Spurs Show: paying tribute to the home team opens with a reception November 7 (First Friday) at 725 S. Presa from 6 pm - 12 am, and runs through December 31. View by appointment only.
