God has certainly blessed me today. I have a cat named Snoop Dogg. He is 9 years old, a playful tuxedo boy, always healthy and made the move from California with me a few years back. Snoopy has seen me through some tough lonely times. Up until yesterday, he was fine. He ate his morning Temptations treats yesterday but was not hungry last night or this morning. He also had an upset stomach a few times during the night. I called Dr. Harris at Pataskala Animal Hospital and we discussed a possible UTI or blockage. By the way, Pataskala Animal Hospital is wonderful. Anyway, Snoop went into OSU Animal Hospital late this morning, even though he didnt seem really really sick. They took him right in and turned out x-rays showed a 1 and 1/2 inch by 1 and 1/2 inch tumor just below his duodenum, along with a perforation in his stomach which could have been a bad case of peritonitis and infection. The surgical staff and anesthesiologist got together right away and started exploratory surgery. Dr. Bertram just called, saying all went well, they had run preliminary tests to check the repairs and looks like things are going well. What a shocker that just yesterday he seemed fine and today he had to be rushed into emergency. I prayed the Lords prayer and to St. Francis of Assisi (Patron Saint of Animals?) in the waiting room and felt an answer. Thank you once again Lord. ♥
