God in a Body We are now entering the time of the year that is often described as the most wonderful time of the year. Billions of people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ or the return of Santa Clause. As for Jesus many celebrate the truth that baby Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary in a manger and wise men presented unto him gifts. This is probably the motivation behind everyone shopping to buy the best gift for their loved ones each year. But one of the spectacular things about Jesus birth is that Jesus was not just your average child. He was born of the virgin Mary by way of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:18 Says, Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. What does this mean? It means that God who is the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary. Therefore If God has a son this can only mean that his son will be just like Him. John 3:16 teaches us that ...God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. The word begotten in this verse carries the idea of being one of the same kind. Whats so amazing about Jesus birth is that he is not only the Son of God but Jesus is God. He was in the beginning with God says John 1:2. The child that was born in Bethlehem was not just your average baby but He was God in a human body. John 1:14 says, And the Word(Jesus) Became flesh(human) and dwelt among us... Why did God come to earth in the form of Jesus? 1. To save us from a place where Jesus says, the wormwood doesnt die and the fire is not quenched 2. To save us from this sinful body that keeps making the same sinful mistakes over and over again. 3. To give us eternal life so that we may spend eternity in the presence of God the Father. Jesus made it very clear that He is the only way to Heaven where God the Father resides. This is why Jesus says,,... I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Why? Because the only way to heaven is through God and the Bible clearly teaches us that Jesus is God. He is equal to God the Father (John 10:30). Jesus was God in a body. God is alive and well and He exists as three distinct persons but yet one God: God the Father(Jehovah), God the Son(Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit(He is the same Spirit that impregnated Mary). God sent his one and only son to save us so that we may not perish but have eternal life. How do we enter into eternal life? Well.. This can only be done by you turning from your sin and responding to the call of God to save you. Salvation is of God. Maybe your one of His elect. Admit to God that you are a sinner and turn from your sin to God. First Corinthians chapter 15 teach us that ...Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, [4] that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures... I encourage you to spend some personal time in prayer with The Lord. Ask God(Jesus) to save you. He will do it! God is open to reasoning. Its appointed for man to die once then after that the judgement Being a good person does not grant you access to God. At the time of judgement God is not going to be concerned about your good deeds. Your verdict will be conditioned on whether or not you knew(intimately) His only Son. So the question remains, Who is going to represent you at the judgement seat, in Gods courtroom? Jesus wants to be your advocate. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and all are in need of a savior. Will you respond to the call of salvation by letting go of your sins, even your secrete sins that God already knows about? Nothing his hidden from His sight. Hes waiting?
