God is not interested in changing your behavior. He has no desire to make nice, polite, well-behaved little Christians that live safe, quiet lives in the name of holiness. God wants only that we are so enraptured with the depth and the commitment and the beauty and the horror of the Cross that His Son hung on for our sakes that our hearts are completely surrendered to the mystery of the Gospel. It is out of this surrender then that He changes our heart. He changes our instincts, our reactions, and He changes our desires to line up with what is good and right inside of His will. Do not attempt to fix your life - you cannot succeed. Let God change your heart.
