God made salvation so simple it sounds too good to be true to some, so they miss it. John 16:9 "The worlds sin is UNBELIEF in Jesus." Rom 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who BELIEVES, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." Salvation is a free gift from God. Our response to the gift determines whether or not we truly recieved it. The response God is looking for is repentance from dead works unto faith in Jesus finished work. Stop trying to make yourself perfect and start asking and believing Him to do this work in and through you. You belong to Him now, your His responsibility. In the new covenant He promises to continually save, heal and deliver you! Believe it! Walk in it!
