God, such a heartwrenching moment today while working at Universal City Walk..this guy--employee of Universal was walking toward me with a bag from the LUSH store and Im like aw what did you get, that store is great. He proceeded to tell me about the 3 items he had gotten. He looked into the bag, rummaged around and offered to let me smell them. Then I was like who did you get these for..not that they couldnt be for you, I love the shampoo discs.. Then he got a little pensive and then he said...well.. its my wifes birthday today....she passed away on this day last year.. and I could tell he was trying hard to keep from getting emotional...and then i was of course like, God Im so sorry to hear.. and his mouth started quivering while he was talking, saying that he wasnt sure who he got this stuff for...and that his peers at work were his family and all he has out here. Oh my God I was just speechless; and i couldnt seem to offer any consolation, it took me off guard. I wanted to say something effective and deeply sympathetic..but he just started to walk away. Bless you man
