Gods Gem Child Ministry Daily Devotional Sunday 27th October 2013 Topic: To obey is better than sacrifice Text: 1 Samuel 15:21-35 And Samuel said, hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams; For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and sturbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou has rejected the word of the Lord, he hath rejected thee from being king. No matter how valid your relationship with God is, the moment you start showing act of being wiser than his instructions youre approaching rejection. Saul was appointed 1st King over the people of God, He was Gods elect, cos no man was found goodly after him. He started well by hearkening to the voice of God, but he never ended well, he violated the instructions given to him. If you hide behind man to sideline the instructions of God, rejection is the reward, It will only take the grace of God to reinstate you. Saul was rejected and his kingdom was passed to a neighbor(David), because he feared the people instead of acknowledging God who elected him. The years of your relationship with God doesnt matter, what matter most is obeying his instructions. If God can reject Saul, the very King he appointed, because of disobedience(Rebellion and Sturbornness). Then it shows He frowns against disobedient. You remember the couples that fabricate lies in Act 5( Ananias and Sapphira)? God is more interested in that obedient spirit of yours than your sacrifice. I charge you to sacrifice your self as an obedient child. Anyone who follows the fathers will cannot but enjoy the father Act Right and Be Wise.
