Gods Word for Today: Ah, the joys of Fall. Quite chilly in the morning, then warms up to amazing afternoons. It is like Mother Nature is slowly preparing us for Winter. One of the downfalls of these temperature changes is, when it warms up just enough, an enormous amount of flys see this as an opportunity to come into the house. I guess you really cant blame them, they are trying to survive too. In the summer, you expect them to be around. When it starts cooling down, you expect them to disappear. But no, they do their best to take away the pleasure of a warm fall day. I truly believe there is one fly that will survive all winter, and its sole mission is to interrupt any afternoon nap I attempt to take. Our lives will always be interrupted by the flys of this world. Just when you are comfortable with your Christian walk, something or somebody will try to take that Joy from you. There will be pests that are always trying to invade your Home. Not so much to survive in your world, but rather to drag you back to theirs. Whether it is thru degrading your chosen path, reminding you of your faults, or encouraging you to do wrong. Maybe it is old bad habits that you have deleted from your life that keep trying to creep back. Or a weakness that causes you to stray. No matter how strong your Faith and how straight your Walk, you will always need to carry a flyswatter with you. Turning to the Bible on a regular basis is a strong screen door to hold out the flys of life. Consistent prayer is the insecticide thats wards off those irritating pests. Today, recognize the flys in your life that are keeping you from truly enjoying your walk with Christ. Dont wait for the cold weather to remove them. Instead, identify them and start removing them from your life, one by one....
