God’s Ears And My Prayers In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.” ~ Psalm 18:6 If experiencing hardship is discouraging; then reaching out for help, and getting nothing in return is depressing. Having your concerns and cares fall on deaf ears adds insult to injury. Plus, it puts salt into the wounds of your suffering. David’s prayer and song in Psalm 18 reminds us to go to God when facing anguish of the soul, because your prayers will not fall on deaf ears. According to David, your prayers go right to the ears of God. Therefore, when difficulties come your way remember that God hears your prayer, and He knows your needs. Your prayer request does not go into a file, or spam folder, nor does it get lost on His desk. You are a top priority to God! Although you may have not experienced breakthrough yet, hold firm to the convictions of your faith. Even Jesus had to pray intensely at times. The night before He was crucified, Luke’s Gospel records that Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane and He actually sweat droplets of blood. This is a medical condition called “Hematidrosis” where one’s sweat will contain blood. The sweat glands are surrounded by tiny blood vessels. These vessels can constrict, and then dilate to the point of rupture where the blood will then effuse into the sweat glands. It’s cause – extreme anguish. If Jesus can pray when He is pushed to the brink of death, how much more should you be praying and trusting God? The truth is each of us need to decrease our complaining and increase our praying. As you honor God in the valley and seek Him in prayer know that He hears you, and relief is coming. May God Bless you, as you walk in the confidence of His counsel today. - Pastor Ray
