God’s Simple Math System: Love + Unity = POWER....Phil Lyons We in the church world today are busy trying to show our great love for God by keeping His Commandments and going to our churches that we have chosen to attend because we believe like they do. The religious system today is comprised of many worldwide organizations, building great, beautiful, well designed facilities to contain all the disciples, various ministries, family centers, business offices, and everything needed to carry on the visions and plans and desires that each church or denomination has need of. To all outward appearance, there is revival in the land and around the world. New churches are being planted, new buildings are being built, new people are entering the ministry, more missionaries are being trained and sent to the uttermost parts of the earth, people are being ministered to and reached with the latest technology. There is joy in the camp, or should I say CAMPS. The entire church world has formed the belief system that it’s OK with God that we have formed our literally thousands and thousands of denominations, better known as divisions in the Body of Christ. These divisions are based on what we believe about God, the Bible, Heaven and Hell, the Devil, the Holy Ghost, Healing, Miracles, Christ’s return and many, many other subjects which are taught either FOR or AGAINST. Obviously, God honors the bits and pieces of the Word of God that we each preach and stand for. It seems that each of us has a piece or portion of the Word that we emphasize or major on and we build, organize, and endoctrinate our disciples based on our belief and understanding, or lack thereof, of the scriptures. We obviously think that God’s blessing and anointing on our churches and ministries are His sign of approval that we have it all right. Therefore, we are all going full speed ahead with our piece of the puzzle, thinking that it’s the whole puzzle. We’re not aware of the confusion, division, lack of respect, and even the joke that we may appear to be in the eyes of the world. I’d hate to be a new Christian today, being told to find a good church. “Einie, meanie, miney, moe. Which one of these churches(that none of them believe alike) should I go?” The saddest part of it all is that we are evidently satisfied with not having the fullness of POWER that the New Testament Church was birthed in and commissioned to take into all the world. Instead of building our church and our denomination, God is more concerned with building His Church and His Kingdom. We have missed the simplicity of the New Testament Gospel. The Church was birthed on the Day of Pentecost in great power because of one simple thing. UNITY. Throughout the Book of Acts, everywhere there was UNITY, there was the power of God, salvations, Baptisms in the Holy Spirit, healings, miracles, buildings shook, prison doors opened, disciples were multiplied, signs, wonders and mighty manifestations of God’s power. We may think that UNITY is “us all agreeing together,” but God’s definition of UNITY is, “US agreeing with HIM. That’s real Bible Unity. The REAL KEY to the mighty outpouring of His Spirit and the manifestation of His Power, is us individually humbling ourselves before God and each of us repenting of our fear, pride, jealousy, rebellion, and religion, then purposing with all of our heart to come into agreement with God. The one commandment of the New Testament Church that fulfills all the other commandments is Love One Another as He loves us. By this all men shall know that you are my disciples. If we want to show our love to God and the world, let’s come into unity and agreement with Him. The Holy Spirit was sent to empower the church and reveal The Word of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ. We need to know God without man’s spin on it. The move of God that’s taking place today is to bring His people into UNITY with Him. God’s unchanging formula today is still LOVE + UNITY = POWER. Phil Lyons
