Be sure to tell your teachers what a great job they do. · Anyone who would like to make a donation for the Syrian refugees, please bring your donations to the front office. · Student Council nominations are now being accepted! Positions include class reps for each grade, president, vice president, and secretary. Applications are in the office and will be accepted until October 21st. Campaigning will be from October 22nd through 28th. Elections will be held on October 29th. Consider running to have a voice for your class at IHS. See Ms. Riley for more information. · If you missed Glee auditions, see Ms. Dermish after school briefly today to schedule an audition for Friday. · There will be a meeting today after school for all students interested in joining the drum line. Interested students should meet in the auditorium from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. · If you are interested in playing soccer, please get a form one the coaches and give it to Ms. Causey by today. If you do not have a completed form, you will not be on the list for physicals. · Soccer practice will be held today from 2 to 4. · Guitar club will meet on tomorrow from 4 to 5. · Beta Club will meet after school tomorrow in Mrs. Nelsons room. If anyone is considering running for an office, please see Mrs. Nelson before the end of the day Wednesday to have your name added to the ballot. · There will be an Academic Games meeting next Tuesday after school in the Community Room. New members are welcome! · There are two college visits this week: Middlebury College tomorrow at 2:30 and Elon on Friday at 2:15. Don’t forget to sign up on Naviance if you’re interested and also get your permission slip signed by your teacher. · Attention to all seniors: if you want to rep the class of 2014, submit your design for a t-shirt by October 18nd to Ms. Bunn or any member of the Senior Board (Anastasia, Alan, Daniella, Josh, Lara, Milan, or Tamiera). We recommend that the designs be submitted in a digital format. · If anyone finds a B&W iphone5, please turn it in to the office. A reward is being offered. · Students - keep checking the board outside the counseling offices for scholarships and other opportunities. This board is constantly being updated with new and exciting information for you! · AMAZING OPPORTUNITY: TEDYouth 2013, themed The Spark, is moving south this year! It’s happening Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana just blocks away from IHS. At TEDYouth, more than 20 scientists, designers, technologists, explorers, artists, performers (and more!) will share short lessons on what they do best. They’ll dazzle us with mind-shifting stories, inspire us with creativity and make us want to dive even deeper into a broad array of topics. The program is made up of three sessions, plus a lunch break with engaging activities, demos, and a chance to meet the speakers. Attendance is free of charge for 400 middle and high school students from the New Orleans area.
