Going back to that mock draft I was looking at earlier this - TopicsExpress

Going back to that mock draft I was looking at earlier this evening, I think about the Watkins pick... As I said, I am 100% all for it. Itll be pretty difficult to mess this pick up. Weather its an offensive pick or defensive pick...both Maclin and Cooper will be FAs after this season. Its been made clear that we obviously miss Maclin this season. I am a big Maclin fan and was ecstatic when we picked him. I remember watching those Mizzou games, seeing Chase Daniels shred defenses apart, getting the ball to Maclin all over...I remember I was living in Houston and was at work during the draft and after we drafted him I remember walking around with a smile the rest of the day. With that said, I hope and pray he returns better than he ever was. Depending how he returns, I hope we extend him. Now, with all that being said, Sammy Watkins would still be a good pick. Just imagine...Djax, healthy Maclin and Sammy Watkins... WHEW! If that aint scary I dont know what is. I think Watkins is the best WR in the draft. No, hes not as dynamic as Thomas, but hes the best all around WR. I like to think of Watkins as a poor mans AJ Green...which isnt all that bad. Think about it. Hes a very intelligent player. Hes got the speed to beat NFL secondaries over the top and the ability to break tackles and pick up the YACs. Like I said, itd be pretty difficult to mess this pick up. We could go corner with Roby, Purifoy or that dude from Oregon whos name I cant freakin spell (haha...), Verrett or Dennard. we could go LB, depending where we pick, and get Barr, Mack, Johnson or Mosley. Shazier, Van Noy, Skov or Bullough... All depends on where we pick. If we go offensive the only pick should be Watkins...PERIOD! If we go defensive, as u can see with what Ive shared, we could go one of many ways... And no, ITS NEVER TOO EARLY TO TALK DRAFT... LETS GO BIRDS!! BEAT THE SKINS!!! -Alex from Ardmore
