Going back to where it all began. A voice- pure, soothing, musical and so full of emotions, tugging at the heart-strings and making a small boy realize that here was something magical. Aaja Piya Tohe Pyar Doon brought Lata Mangeshkar into my life and then life was never the same again! Her songs introduced me to the riches of film music and bhaav sangeet. Times changed, trends changed, I changed, even her voice changed but what has never changed is her irreplaceable position as my musical compass. Has there been anything more divine than her prime-era voice, which gave wings to so many music maestros dream compositions and so many wordsmiths brilliant lyrics, making a whole momentous era golden!
