Going to a Dutch festival in a few days, named Castlefest. A place where (neo)pagans, hippies, gypsies, and all other sorts of people come together every year and enjoy medival food, drinks and music. Every year there is a wickerbeast ritual, where festival guests can put something in the belly of the beast. This year it will be an owl. At the concert that evening, this year Faun will be playing, the beast will be lit on fire. Which always has been a very special moment for me. I always make something myself. Mostly one or two nights before, in the middle of the night, because it just pops up. This year.. I made a photo frame. A little ode to all who have teached me or at least tried. Who made memories with me. Friends, enemies, loved ones. Those who passed or passed on, on themselves. My wishes are in these little pieces of wood, as is my love. The symbols have a very special and deep meaning for me, which will help me sort out my stuff and letting go of the unimportant things, baggage and emotions in life. Tell me your wishes, and I’ll make sure they’ll go up into the sky next to mine! Have a beautiful Lughnasadh.
