Going to see Death Metal. January 23 - week from today. I dont think its nearly as bad as people think though. Just a metal concert. Whats that you say? What happens at Metal concerts? Music is preformed at a rapid pace with enough bass & drums to get someone moving. For me its because its specifically composed of both melodies and harmonies magnificently done - all put together with my favorite type of noises, electronic guitar, digital piano, and expertly done lyrical content. Perhaps the vocalist is a bit guttural - that is how I hear myself talk. So lets rock on. While concerts might be perfect sounding - as you remember the CD - in a live concert - you see them play it; how well theyve practiced - cause I have memorized how each song is played - Instrumentally. Then they sing. This is like seeing a choir who has practiced a song to exactly replicable performances, or any traditional Cantatas gathered for any sort singing - with / without music a capella. Example - tinyurl/7mmet55 - Simple piano and a single man singing. How powerful is that moment? Easy for you to sync to that crowd if you imagine you were there - to feel the crowd pound hearts with yours during the later portions of that song. If your a little more subconsciously aware of others emotional state, empathic, sensitive, body-languagese type that was a momentous occasion; if youve been giving your complete attention and open subconscious mind to it, then youve linked to that moment. Share your heartbeat with the crowds - come to the same memory. A situation which gains you an applied Wisdom - something many of us felt. ((Football does this exceptionally well for a background morale purpose - the 12th man is real - here in Seattle. #ConnectSeahawks)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- However Im not going to the above linked genre of music - I am going to Insomnium + a few others (exploratory). This is that Birthday present I bought myself - Thanks Mom. Lyrically its on par with the right hand side of this chart if youve never heard of Insomnium - i.imgur/QlHdwpP.jpg This is that place - that place you go where you get to feel good about nearly fighting others - to give it your all - like when I was a kid. Except socially responsible rules obviously apply. The moss pit is rewarding. By throwing your weight against each other, shoving and pushing - you pick up an energy, but everyone is always cautiously respectful of others. If you fall - ten people help you up. Help others up. Dont be overly aggressive, dont pick a fight, dont be a dick. Be cool. Have fun. Let go. Drink something. Thrash about. Head-bang. Exercise hardily. Pace yourself. Sense the crowd. Connect the energy around you. Surf the vibes. Log on to humanity. Compress the moment into memory. Community. An so metal drives the fire which pounds new gas into an old engine - to encourage invigorating movement - to toss ones self against the tides of time, and shift your mental state to AC - that After Concert feeling once again. My old band has lost their lead singer - RIP Wayne Static, of Static-X. - Moment of silence - Seven shows now archived behind me over 10 years. There are no more. So Insomnium - who really wanted to go with me? Doors at 7.
