Going to start my own no pressure, no tag railroad theme. And the theme is mentors. Who inspired you, or continues to inspire you to push yourself, to get better, whos influence is still felt and wont allow you to give up? Who wants to play along? I have three or four that have had a profound influence on me. But the big two are William P. Price, and John G. King. I learned much from both, too much to list here. Bill was a legend who had been there and done that. He was E.F. Hutton...when he spoke you listened. Just listening to him talk about a photo or location, or a locomotive was an eye opening experience. John had seemingly been everywhere and was always pointing me at new locations, as well as opening up his vast collection and sharing it with me. Id never made it to Huntington or Willard without Johns influence. Sadly they are both gone now but I count myself fortunate to count them as my friends as well as mentors. Photo 1 was taken in April or May of 1985, and it shows Bill Price watching a burro crane at Q tower. Photo 2 is of John helping to paint a caboose for the 1989 Cumberland Connection.
