Good Afternoon FBF Always treat all people well, with courtesy, love and respect. While I was the manager of the Kmart in Sykesville, MD, I had to fire an employee, because she was not maintaining her assigned area (Fashion Accessories Dept). I sat down with her to find out what was going on with her and why she wasn’t proactive concerning her dept. She told me she was going through some problems at home and with her boyfriend. She wanted to adopt this little boy, but he didn’t want to and he drank too much. Later that week, my District Manager came past my store, I was marked down because of the condition of the Fashion Accessories Dept, it was not up to par, endcaps were not displaying seasonal merchandise and sale signs were not up properly. I had no choose, but to let her go. A few weeks later, I was parked in the lot behind the mall. I was having problems getting the car started. I was driving a lite blue 1977 Chrysler Cordoba. I finally got it started, but it only made it to the left side of the building, and cut off. There was a liquor store on that side and the lady I fired was coming out of the door. She saw my car, and came over to see if I was alright. I told her the car cut off and I’m not sure what is wrong with it. At that time there were no cell phones, she went back to the liquor store to the phone booth. Ten minutes later about 10 or fifteen broncos and SUVs with high suspension pulled up around my car. A white guy jump down out of the bronco and walked over to me. I took my stance (just moved my right leg back to balance myself). He said Hi Mr. McCoy, something wrong with your car? I said I don’t know what’s wrong with this thing, man. He was Kathy’s boyfriend. I was told by some of the other employees that he was a Klansman and had his own group. Some of the other guys got out of their vehicles and walked over. He opened the hood, I think in about ten minutes they had it going. I thanked him and Kathy, shake his hand, got in my car and took off, west on 26, left turn on 32 south. They followed me for about 5 miles down the mountain. I threw my hand up and waved, put my foot in the gas, and did my other 75 miles. K Mart in Sykesville, was located on route 26, about 28 miles NW of Baltimore. That was 80 miles from my home. Trying to get home. Always treat all people well, with courtesy, love and respect. Gods Grace and Mercy can come in unusual ways. --------------------------- Stay in Motion, Life is Good!
