Good Afternoon.........The NLPD hopes you are enjoying your weekend. Police Logs: October 30, 2013 1307: HCSO Dispatch reports an alarm activation at a New London Ave. residence. Upon arrival the Officer made contact with realtor who accidentally activated the alarm. Checks OK. 1344: Complainant reports losing a set of car keys in the area of First Street. Report filed. 0856: Complainant on Third Street reports hearing a loud boom in the area of Aster Court Apts. Officers made contact with the Apt manager who advised a transformer malfunctioned causing a loss of power. Firelands Electric contacted. October 31, 2013 1330: NLPD provided a funeral escort for Eastmans Funeral Home. 2311: HCSO Dispatch reports an alarm activation at a East Main Street business. Officer checked the building which appeared secure. Report filed. November 1, 2013 0439: Complainant reports a loud noise in the area of East Main Street. Officer arrived and observed a light pole damaged due to the high winds. Firelands Electric contacted and arrived to repair the pole. Report filed. 1355: Complainant on Third Street reports being involved in a verbal argument with her boyfriend. Officers arrived and eventually resolved the issue. Arrangements made for the boyfriend to spend the night at his parents home. Report filed. 1504: Complainant from Huron Ohio reports telecommunications harassment from a Village resident residing on Third Street. Officer made contact with the subject who agreed to cease all communications. Report filed. 1611: Complainant on Westwood Drive reports a dog at large. Several attempts were made by the Officer to capture the animal but were unsuccessful. 1718: Complainant on Grant Street reports a dog at large. Officer checked the area and observed the same dog from the previous call at a residence on West Washburn Street. The dogs owner was advised of the Village Ordinance and issued a warning. Report filed. 2124: Officer initiated a traffic stop on West Main Street for several traffic violations. After speaking to the subject the Officer observed several indicators of impairment. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Police Station where a Breathalyzer test was performed. He was charged with OVI and released to a family member. Report filed. 2330: Complainant at an Akron Street business reports a continuous beeping noise in the area. Officer arrived and was able to locate the noise as a gas pump handle not properly replaced in its holder. Handle reset and the noise ceased. November 2, 2013 0950: HCSO Dispatch reports a non injury motor vehicle accident on North Main Street. Report and photos taken. Thats it for today........Stay warm and dry.
