Good Carbs vs Bad Carbs: How many of you force down chewy brown - TopicsExpress

Good Carbs vs Bad Carbs: How many of you force down chewy brown rice or brown pasta with your meals when you dont even like it because its better for you? Well, youre just being daft. The GI rating of a carbohydrate only really applies if eaten alone and fasted. Thats how the GI rating is calculated. As soon as you add protein and fat into the mix with your carbohydrate, the blood sugar spike of a simple carb is rendered similar to that of a complex carb. So assuming you arent eating a meal of carbohydrate alone, which Im not sure why you would anyway, you can have whatever carb sources you like. White rice, white pasta, white bread, white potatoes. The only downside is that you will naturally lose a little fibre from the simple sources not being a whole grain, but assuming youve got some Decent veg in there, broccoli, spinach etc then thatll make up for it no problem. EAT WHAT YOU ENJOY! Educate and dominate.
