Good Day Again My Friends :) Sorry for the late/early update. I got home yesterday somewhat later than expected, and had to pick up some food at the store. I then ate & dozed off early. Thus, I am up at 03:30 doing my update. I was at the hospital for several hours yesterday while they went over things with me. The decision has now been made to start the chemotherapy first..So the plan is for 6 rounds of chemo, then radiation to follow after. So I dont glow for a while yet. (LOL) ;) I am in better shape, physically than they had presumed. They did a few more checks on my system. My heart & lungs are in great shape (I hope so ... I am a licensed pilot still) and we are waiting for a pet scan next, to confirm the exact location & size of the tumor, then begin the chemo. Probably next week. They were very upbeat, which is good, and the word CURE was bandied around a lot by the Doctors. But, it is still not a pleasant thing to be facing. Rather scarry actually. I go to see Dr. Tracey Palmer today (Tuesday). She is a Doctor of Natural Medecine. I must admit that I am looking forward to this visit very much & want to go over all the options to make sure this beast is beaten and never comes back. As a pleasant surprise, I received passes to see the next production from The Met (The Metropolitan Opera, New York) It will be a simulcast again, to our local theatre since I am not planning any travel till my chemo & radiation are over. BUT, anyone who loves opera & symphony like me will understand how much that means. I am sure it will be a great spirit builder when I go. The chemo will make my hair fall out & with the onset of the Canadian winter, I am not looking forward to that. I am not being vane about my hair, I am just concerned about the cold on my head. I have sold off three of my old Cadillacs and that will leave my driveway mostly open for my truck (which is all I drive in the winter ... its a 4 Wheel drive & big. Great way to get around on the snow days). It will allow a plow to get in as well & clear the yard for me. If my system is down from therapy, I dont want to be out there clearing away snow myself. Anything more than brushing the truck off can be done by someone else till I am better. I will put another update here after I have come back from Dr. Palmer. The visit will take a few hours as she goes over everything regarding my health. :) As a pleasant surprise, I saw my friend Brenda Sherrard & her husband Doug at the Hospital yesterday. Doug is undergoing chemo as well. It hits so many; the very young to the very old.. Stay Safe & have a GREAT Day everyone :)
