Good Monday Morning! We have 40 degrees in downtown Summerville headed for a high of 45 today. Tonight the cold weather returns with a low of 14 degrees. Tomorrow we will see a high of only 30 degrees and a slight chance of light snow after 5 PM. Accumulations of less than a half-inch. Chance for light snow Tuesday night and into Wednesday. Chattooga 911 tells us that Taylors Ridge is open this morning. Yesterday evening US Highway 27 was closed for a period of time as the Georgia Forestry Service and local fire departments battled a fire on the ridge. Police escorts were used when the road re-opened. This morning both lanes of traffic are open, but the Forestry Service remains on the scene. The fire is under control, but commuters say that you can still see small fires burning all over the ridge. You are asked to use the inside lane and go slow through the area. Have a great Monday!
