Good Monday morning, Hopkins County area.....as we wind down the month of June, it is a warm 78 degrees, under cloudy skies, at 4:30 a.m., at my house, expect a hot and humid, high of 95 degrees this afternoon, under partly cloudy skies and a 10% chance of rain.....tonight offers a low of 73 degrees with a continued 10% chance of rain.....the month of June has been a fairly wet one and offered enough moisture for things to be beautiful and green for the summer season. Most peoples gardens are doing well, if youve managed to kill the grasshoppers and keep them under control.....I havent gotten rid of them completely, but have managed to curb their presence somewhat!.....A wonderful Sunday afternoon, at the theater in Sulphur Springs.....with an awesome presentation of Little Mermaid, by an outstanding cast and crew! Hats off to all of you on a great production!.....Hopefully, I can find some time to write some additional stories about my trip to West Texas, as I managed to gather a lot of information to share with you in the coming weeks......Meanwhile, Im looking forward to traveling to Wisconsin with the 4-H group in a couple of weeks and should encounter some nice summertime weather!....On the plate for this week is the opportunity to visit with family and friends, as well as cover a number of local events!....Enjoy the summer in Hopkins County!......This morning I was drawn to one of my favorite passages in the Bible, one that is so simple, but sometimes hard for me to put into practice.....The Gospel of Luke, chapter 12, verses 22 thru 26...Then Jesus said to his disciples, Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens. They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to this life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?......Jesus very directly tells us to not worry about what were going to wear or what were going to eat. And, how much of our time is spent worrying about just such trivial things?.....And, yes, there was a time in my life that I spent too much time worrying about such things, but the older that Ive gotten, hopefully Ive learned that if someone is only your friend, or is impressed by your clothing, they certainly arent worth the time spent on it!....And, most all of us could miss a meal, any day of the week!....Jesus tells us that were more important to God the Father than the birds of the air and He takes care of them!....On this final day of June, that God has created for us, lets trust in the Father and enjoy the blessings that He provides for us!
