Good Morning Cousins…. It’s 20 degrees at the Mope Relocation Station (thanks Chris!). We will have a high in the mid 20s today with sun/clouds overhead. We are in a gradual warm-up that we wish was a little less subtle. We have no delays, incidents or mopery to report at this time. For those of you who believe, Lent begins today with Ash Wednesday. Lent is a time for prayer, fasting, and charitable works in preparation for Easter. I’m not sure if we say “Happy Lent” or good luck for Lent. Whatever the social amenity is, please accept ours. There are 199 days until the Brimfest Crazy Cousins Reunion and Veterans Welcome Home Parade. It is the largest family reunion we know of. We believe we will have plenty of baked beans…we aren’t so sure about the lemonade….keep squeezing. Today is NOT my birthday. Happy Birthday to all of our cousins who are having a birthday today. We hope you get “Ive Got a Tiger by the Tail” the great album by Buck Owens and his Buckaroos. I am not in North Carolina, nor am I in Goodyear, Arizona. Good morning to the chief, officers and staff at the Goodyear Police Department. Carry on!...and take care of our Cleveland Indians. On this date in 1973, New York Yankee pitchers Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich made a trade not related to baseball. The traded wives. Yikes. There are so many different directions to go with that story, I am becoming clutter-brained. Each man and wife decided they would be happier with the other’s spouse. Two of them are still married. I wish this didn’t happen, solely because I do not want Mrs. Chief to get any ideas. On some days, I think she would trade me for a handbag and player to be named later. Happy Birthday to Eva Mendes. She is an actress. She has been in several movies including Training Day, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Girl in Progress. She turns 40 years old today. When she calls for me, I will have Mrs. Chief answer the phone. I hate breaking hearts. When ladies cry, I get emotional. Happy Birthday to Dan Carter. That’s a little shout-out to our New Zealand cousins. Dan is a rugby player. I have a new found love for rugby, for lots or reasons. The primary one is that it lacks (thankfully) all of the dancing and prancing of our American football. When someone makes a good play in rugby, they shake hands and sometimes hug. There is no yelling, pointing to the name on the back of jerseys and taunting. It is quite refreshing. Happy Birthday to Andy Gibb. He is no longer with us. Andy was the brother of the fellas who were in the band the Bee Gees. Andy had his own solo career.
