Good Morning Crazy Cousins!! We have about 63 degrees at Brimfield Police Headquarters. We will have a high in the mid 80s today with mostly sunny skies. We have no delays, incidents or arrests to discuss at this time. Today is September 4th 2014. The Brimfest Crazy Cousins Reunion and Veterans Welcome Home Parade is 16 days away. On this date in 1833, The New York Sun newspaper hired the first known “newsboy.” The little guy was reportedly 10 years old and sold newspapers for the Sun. I remember my days of heaving around two sacks full of the Beacon Journal, back in my youth. The Beacon was an afternoon paper. Loved the paper, hated trying to collect money from folks. Good grief, it was like I was a vacuum cleaner salesman when I knocked on the door. Houses became….silent. The word for the day is punnet (PUHN-it). The word means, “a small container or basket for strawberries or other fruit.” We use it in a sentence as follows: “You would think as much as Chief Oliver likes raspberries, he would have known what the heck a punnet was.” And now the Brimfield Police Department Etiquette Tip of the Day. “A lady should not say my husband, except among intimates; in every other case she should address him by his name, calling him Mr. and then his last name. Boy….that one won’t be popular. My, how times have changed!! Today is NOT my birthday. Happy Birthday to all of you cousins who were born on this date. We hope you have a wonderful day. We hope you get the entire series set of “Bewitched” on DVD. Happy Birthday to Damon Wayans. He is an actor. He played on the old TV show “In Living Color.” That show was a hoot. He played such characters as Whiz (Homeboy Shopping Network), Homey D. Clown, Blaine Edwards, Mr.H, Handi-Man, Reverend Ed Cash, Anton Jackson and the Head Detective. That show made me laugh. Happy Birthday to Dr. Drew (TV host), Beyonce Knowles (singer) and Tom Watson (golfer). I admire Mr. Watson. I have tried golfing a few times. It results in frustration and near swearing. I will stick to fishing. Happy Birthday to Martin Chambers, form the band Pretenders.
