Good Morning Crazy Cousins…. We have about 65 degrees at the Brimfield Police Headquarters. We will have a high of about 80 today, with a chance of thunderstorms. We have no crashes, incidents or arrested folks to discuss at this time. Today is August 5th, 2014. There are 44 days until the Brimfest Crazy Cousins Reunion and Veterans Welcome Home Parade. The parade starts at 10am. If you want to be in the parade, email us: parade@brimfieldpolice. On this date in 1305, William Wallace, who led Scottish resistance to England, was captured by the English near Glasgow and transported to London for trial and execution. We all saw that unfold in the movie “Braveheart.” Mel Gibson had a nice head of hair in that movie. The word for the day is…..querulous (KWER-uh-luhs). The word means, “apt to find fault; habitually complaining.” We use it in sentence as follows: “People who are querulous are no fun to be around.” And now….the BPD Etiquette Tip of the Day, from…The Police of Brimfield. “All-caps in e-mails have the same effect as shouting in conversation. It’s considered rude.” Today is NOT my birthday. Happy Birthday to all of you cousins who were born on this date. We hope you get the complete series set of the TV show “SWAT” on DVD. I am not in North Carolina, nor am I in Kentucky. Good morning to our cousins in Kentucky. Carry on! Happy Birthday to Maureen McCormick. She was Marcia Brady on the Brady Bunch. Marcia is approaching 60 years old. Good grief! I am old. Happy Birthday to Loni Anderson, John Saxon and Patrick Ewing. Ms. Anderson is an actress. She was on “WKRP in Cincinnati” and also smooched Burt Reynolds for a while. Happy Birthday to Eddie Fingers Ojeda from the band Twister Sister. The song stuck in your head today is….We’re Not Gonna Take It. “Oh were not gonna take it. No, we aint gonna take it. Oh were not gonna take it anymore. Weve got the right to choose it. There aint no way well lost it. This is our life, this is our song.” Today’s Quote: “Punishment is now unfashionable... because it creates moral distinctions among men, which, to the democratic mind, are odious. We prefer a meaningless collective guilt to a meaningful individual responsibility.” ~Thomas Szasz Have a great day!…Chief Oliver.
