Good Morning Everyone! It is 60 degrees at Mope Locators. We will be in the uppers 60s today with a chance of rain. There is also a chance of sun, which is what I will focus on. I will be happy to have you all accompany me in that focus group. We have no delays, crashes or shenanigans to report at this time. Today is May 22nd, 2014. There are 2,901 hours until the Brimfest Crazy Cousins Reunion and Veterans Welcome Home Parade. On this date in 1931, canned rattlesnake meat first went on sale in Florida. Yikes. One side of my family comes from the hills. I have tried a lot of…unusual food. I will have to pass on the rattlesnake. Besides the whole catching the snake problem, there is the overwhelming “yuck factor.” The word for the day is… “diffident.” The definition of the word is: “bashful or unassertive.” It is used in a sentence as follows: “Chief Oliver is often referred to as a being a lot of things… and diffident is not one of them.” Word. He is an American Olympic speed skater. He has won lots of medals. I would have a few problems with speed skating. First, standing up. The next problem would be actually skating. Lastly, skates are not equipped with brakes. So, other than the standing, skating and stopping, I too, could be an Olympic speed skater. I would end a world-record run by crashing into a wall. I would look like a soup sandwich on skates. Spectators would cry from laughing. Hey, I know my limitations. Happy Birthday to Tommy John. He was a baseball pitcher for a whopping 26 years. Land sakes. He pitched after having elbow surgery, which was ultimately referred to as Tommy John Surgery. Now, pitchers who have “Tommy John surgery,” come back and keep on pitching. There is no truth to the rumor that I will undergo the “Tommy John” procedure due to signing so much paperwork during the workday. My pen hand is strong. Happy Birthday to Bernie Taupin. He is a musician and song writer. He doesn’t get a bunch of credit for all he has done. Bernie partnered with Sir Elton John in writing some great songs.
