Good Morning Everyone…. It is 63 degrees at the Center for Mope Containment. We will be in the upper 70s today with….a chance of rain. According to the weather forecasters, we have a chance of rain from now until the end of time. We have no delays, crashes or arrests to tell you about at this time. Today is June 20th, 2014. There are 89 days until we all get together at Brimfest. Don’t worry, if you cannot make the 2nd Annual Crazy Cousins Reunion and Veterans Welcome Home Parade, we will make sure you see pictures. I would try to make it, though. It is a real tear-jerker. On this date in 1840, Samuel Morse patented the telegraph. The telegraph was wired communication, using clicks or beeps banged out on a handset. , Those made dots or dashes. Dots and dashes made up the alphabet and that is how forts and towns communicated with each other. It is called Morse code. The end. I’m not sure I would have had the patience for all of that dotting and dashing. I will say, being without the cell phone for a while would be just fine. The word of the day is “autodidact.” The word means “one who is self-taught.” We use it in a sentence as follows: “When you are picking out a dentist, it is important that he or she is not autodidact.” Yeah, that would be a deal breaker for me. I do not believe a Leatherman to be an actual dental utensil. Today is NOT my birthday. Happy Birthday to all of our cousins who were born on this date. I hurt from playing backyard football 35 years ago. I could not imagine the old man pain I would be in now from jumping off of top ropes and being in cage matches for all of those years.
