Good Morning FB Friends and Family! In todays lesson from Beth Moores Breaking Free we learn about what it means to be a bride, The Bride. Isaiah 61:10 says, I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. The imagery of the bridegroom is often used in Scripture to depict the Messiah (Matthew 9:5), while the imagery of the bride is used to depict Gods people (Revelation 19:6-8). We too can be clothed with righteousness of Christ when we believe in him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Read Isaiah 61:3. The crown of beauty in its original meaning is an ornamental headdress like a crown or a wedding veil. The original term comes from the Hebrew word paar, meaning to gleam, to explain oneself, to beauty. The kind of headdress a woman wore explained who she was. The crown of beauty is symbolic of an elaborate ornament identifying a woman as both bride and queen. Isaiah 61 portrays God blowing away the ashes of mourning and replacing them with a crown; a crown identifying a woman as the bride of the King. This is how Christ sees YOU! Interesting enough, the enemy sees us that way too, but he wants to deceive us into believing we are so much less than we are because well act like who we know we are - the bride of the King - and the enemy does not want us to know how very special we are to Christ! Can you think of some words that immediately jump to mind describing a bride? For me I think of youthfulness, innocence, gitty, newness, freshness, and even a picture of beauty that is indescribable. We will always be His bride - a lasting romance. Our Bible is a love story from God to Us, His Bride. Read Jeremiah 2:2 - what is the bride willing to do? Follow him anywhere! We are to do just that, follow Christ anywhere and everywhere! Yall it is not always easy though - as our Bridegroom sometimes leads us through difficult storms; we must be willing to navigating the water ways of our hearts, making ready to make port always trust Him to have purpose in our underway periods. Never forgetting we serve a good God who will never forsake us! Turn with me to Revelation 19:4-8. These verses describe the corporate gathering of all believers and Christ at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Though this wedding feast is a future event, verse 7 implies a very important responsibility of the Bride - we cannot wait until the last minute. She has made herself ready. Not only for the wedding, but for the Groom. We cannot make ourselves ready without thinking all about Him - mediating on our similarities (which should be multiplying), thinking about our differences and how we might adjust - simply thinking about how wonderful He is! Read Psalm 45:1-15. Verses 13-15 are a depiction of the bride of Christ coming home - forever! He loves us so much yall. He gave His ONE and ONLY Son so that we might live - I say might, because you have a choice - to live or to die. The choice is yours. Choose life today, choose the ONE who truly loves you and wants you as His bride. Father, thank You for loving me - for choosing me as Your bride, for I am honored. For I shall make myself ready Father, living life on earth; striving to Love You, Love Your people, and simply living this life to make a difference. Help me Father; light my path so that I may be the light in the dark on earth. Amen. Have a blessed day!
