Good Morning, It is 50 this morning with just a few clouds. - TopicsExpress

Good Morning, It is 50 this morning with just a few clouds. The breeze is so gentle, it is barely more than a whisper. The birds are certainly happy as they begin their day. What a beautiful morning! You have heard the saying that beauty is only skin deep, but there is an inner beauty that is much deeper than skin - it goes straight to soul! Todays devo is about moms but every attribute there could be said about people in general. If we want to be successful at relationships, we must invest time, pray for one another, and love God. One of the precious times of the day is when Ellen, my secretary, and I have devotions and pray for one another. Sometimes, the prayers get a little long and sometimes they come easily. Have you heard Lets just have a quick prayer? I read an article once that said we may have a short prayer, but a quick prayer isnt acceptable. I think what that meant was when we come to the throne of God, we let Him orchestrate what will be said. If He guides us on a long journey, He will take care of the rest as well. However, there are times when one or two words is what there is time for and when we take that time, He is faithful. Today, Noah has his last music program at Colby Community College. I will be journeying out to hear it. Their concerts involve all the bands and choirs and last about an hour. Seems like a long ways to go for an hour concert, right? Yes, but no. When we were raising our own children, I was insistent that we attend whatever they were in. Sometimes it meant many nights away from home. But, I remember one or two times we didnt go and I felt so crushed and like a failure as a parent. Like the night Shawna got a blue ribbon on her piano solo at 4-H days or our kids graduated from Basic Training. In both cases, we didnt realize parents were supposed to attend. Now, we know better and try to encourage parents to do both. You dont have to be a parent to invest time in others. Its called fellowship and it is a joy divine! So, today as you go through your day, pray for those you are investing in. Hopefully you have some Godly friends that you can discuss how God is working in your life. Then, spend some time - quality time - with them, even if it is on the phone. Being there - really being there - by giving them your full attention, looking at them (and not your phone), and listening to what they are saying is almost a lost art. Try cultivating it today! If you havent been in to see our new offices, stop by. We are loving them! Blessings, Pastor Becky
