Good Morning Matthew, this is Dave Frieman, I am responding to a comment you made on Facebook. I have a great passion for words and a great passion for helping to make this world a more loving and respectful place. Heres my response to your comment about reaching those on the far right with my message. If we are going to grow the United States into the future both politically and economically, we must have a plan that can weather any unforeseen political or economic storms. Well, first lets review United States history, for if we do not understand the lessons of our past, we will be doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. If you look back, the most stable, full-powered economies in the United States happened and were sustained when everyone benefited: the poor, the middle class and the upper class. In our consumer based economic system, when consumers do well, everyone does well. (After all, 70% of our economy is based upon consumer spending.) Also, when we have strong environmental regulations, again everyone benefits. Workers take less sick leave and disability time from the job because they are working in safer, cleaner healthier environments. Businesses benefit because they dont have to face never-ending lawsuits and huge fines and penalties for violating safety and environmental laws. Businesses also receive the benefits of local community support, because people appreciate that the business is not sending carcinogenic toxins into the land, water and air, etc. Another indisputable fact from United States history is that when the upper class was taxed at much higher rates than today, the economy had its best performance years ever! Yes, working class lifestyles in many ways depends upon the taxable contributions of the very wealthy, to provide the capital to make us the greatest, most powerful and most caring nation on Earth. For us to build successful future plans and to continue the greatness of the United States, we do need to be inclusive of everybody: Republicans, Democrats, Independents and all other political parties. We need the best ideas from wherever and whomever they come. So, lets not wait until tomorrow. Let’s roll up our sleeves now and get to work, with wisdom, for the good of America. So let me know what you think Matthew. And maybe together we can use our ideas and skills to make a positive change in the world. Keep in touch. Have a Good Day, Dave David Frieman
