Good Morning. Once upon a time-A Coalition. Before sun set on coalition in India, a few lines on the first ever coalition,for the benefit of late comers and new comers. A midnight order dismisses the first communist govt.in the country and proclaims Presidents rule in Kerala.Leaders of Congress, PSP(praja socialist party)and Muslim league make a prepoll alliance. This alliance Known as Mukkoot Munnani get a landside victory in ensuing election. But the then Congress under Smt.Gandhi have a sudden Realisation that Muslim league is communal and refuse to include them in the ministry. At last Muslim league gets speakers post and the first coalition ministry of Congress & PSP,under late. Sri.Pattom Thanu Pillai is sworn in. Later Pattom is removed from the scene by making him a Governor and late Mr.R.Sankar of Congress becomes the chief. This ministry,even though completed the term, didnt have a smooth sailing.Late Mr.P.T.Ckacko,home minister & Congress strong man was forced to resign after getting involved in a scandal. He died later of heart attack and his supporters led by late Sri.K.M.George revolt and form a new party-Kerala Congress. This outfit was later split into several groups, from A to M and one group or other always manage to share power, irrespective of which front forms the govt. todate. Subham.
