Good Morning, Thinkers! I attended a community event last night filled with the earnest work of children. I saw teachers who held practices before school, taught all day, held practices after school for different kids, stayed up late grading homework and writing lesson plans, and answering our incessant emails; spent many weekends taking groups around for practice at nursing homes and other locales, used spouses and their own kids as assistants and still managed to get your kids to work their hardest and do their best. All so the kids could shine with happiness and pride at their accomplishments on this night. And so you could complain that teachers make too much. So much hope and joy and aggravation and despair rolled into one. I for one, will hang on to that hope and joy. I will celebrate commitment to learning and kids. They are our future and from where I sit, there is hope.
