Good Morning. What a great start to the Autumn term. It was lovely to see all the children come back so happy. We have also enjoyed welcoming our new families to the nursery and pre school. Here is our Autumn term news Letter, you will also receive a paper copy. Steady Steps Nursery & Pre School Autumn Term News Letter Welcome back to the start of another exciting year at Steady Steps. Keeping us informed: It is very important that you keep the information we hold on your child/ren up to date e.g. contact numbers, address and any health concerns. Please can you pass on any change of details to Julie or your child’s key person. Medication: No child should be brought to pre-school if they are unwell, however we understand that: There may be times when your child needs to be given medication during a session e.g. to complete a course of Antibiotics, Asthma inhalers or creams for eczema. We can only administer the medication if: • The medication has the prescription label attached to the bottle/container clearly showing the name of the child and the dosage to be given • The medication is in date • The medication consent book has been signed by the parent/guardian Please note we do not administer Paracetamol elixir to children unless prescribed by a Doctor. Travel Plans: Please can I remind you that you are not permitted to drive into the school at any time unless you hold a Blue badge. This is for the safety of all the children on the school site. Thank you. Fees: The fees for Nursery & Pre-school are £3.25 per hour. Please can you ensure that your fees are paid in full on or before the due date shown on your invoice. Thank you. Contribution towards your child’s snack: Providing children with a nutritious snack during a session can benefit their learning, development and behaviour. We provide a healthy snack twice a day for the children in the nursery & pre-school. Please can we ask that you remember to put in a weekly contribution to help with this expense. We would appreciate a contribution of: • 75 pence per week for 3 sessions or less • 95 pence per week for 3 or more sessions This will help us to continue to provide a nutritious snack for children during a session. Thank you. Change of clothing: During a session your child has the opportunity to access water and messy play. To ensure that they remain comfortable please can you provide a complete change of clothes (to include socks and pants). It is essential that all clothing is clearly marked with your child’s name. Thank you Injuries sustained at Pre School: It is our responsibility to record any injury that happens to your child when they are in our care. Most injuries that we record have disappeared by the time you collect them, such as reddened areas from a bump. However, these still need to be documented and signed off at the end of the day by the parent/guardian. Please can we ask that you bear with us at home times while staff makes sure all accidents are signed off. Thank you Tapestry online Learning Journals: I hope that you are all enjoying following your child’s learning and development as and when it happens! Your child’s key person makes regular entries into their learning Journal including photographs and short video clips of their time during a session. It is really appreciated when you enter a comment in your child’s journal as it demonstrates a commitment to working together to support their learning, development and progress during this important time. If you are having trouble logging into your child’s journal or have problems accessing the internet at home please come and see Julie. You are always more than welcome to come in and view/comment on your child’s journal using our interactive screen in the quiet room. Lunch Clubs: Due to the high demand for lunch clubs priority each term will be given to children who attend all day sessions. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Our new Blue fence! During the summer a little girls Mummy and Daddy gave up a weekend of their time to paint our fence, they both did an amazing job despite the weather closing in which meant they were unable to finish before the end of the holiday. I would like to thank them on behalf of the children and staff for volunteering their time to do this for us. Finally: Remember to ‘Like’ us on our Facebook page. We will never upload photographs of children or disclose a child’s name; however it’s a great way to keep in touch and let you know what has and is happening!!
