Good Morning and a Blessed Sunday to all! Whew yall. Whew. I - TopicsExpress

Good Morning and a Blessed Sunday to all! Whew yall. Whew. I am in the midst of a whirlwind weekend, the kind that my sister Brooke refers to as A Kristin Werner Weekend. I am scheduled out the wazoo, and I am channeling my inner Linda Werner to keep up with the pace! But let me tell you...it is all goodness and love and fun, and I am so grateful for this abundant life that I have the privilege of leading. Thanks be to God indeed. I saw a quote this week that really got me to thinking. It said, Its not who you think you are that holds you back, its who you think youre not. Who you think youre not. The words resonated with me, and I immediately began to ponder the question, Who do you think youre not Kristin? I want to say here that I think it is perfectly ok to acknowledge that there are certain things we are not. I am not a ballerina. I am not good at physics. I am not reserved. I think there are certain truths about ourselves - just innate characteristics that make us who we are and who we are not - that are perfectly all right to believe. No, when I pose the question, Who do you think youre not? what Im really asking is, What lies has the world told you about yourself that you have now come to believe are true? It is a question worth pondering. Because the world does lie to us. Tries to convince us that were just not quite enough, not quite cutting it, not quite making the grade. I wonder today who you think youre not? Not attractive enough? Not smart enough? Not capable enough? Not successful enough? Not rich enough? Not lovable enough? Not, not, not. Lies, lies, lies. And the best way I know how to respond to lies is with the Truth of Scripture. And Scripture says this: You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14) You are a child of God. (John 1:12, Ephesians 1:5, 1 John 3:1) You are the salt and light of the world. (Matthew 5:13-14) You are Gods co-worker. (2 Corinthians 6:1) You are Gods workmanship. (Ephesians 2:10) You have hope. (Ephesians 1:12) You are specifically and uniquely gifted. (1 Peter 4:10) You are never alone. (Matthew 28:20) You are free. (John 8:36) You have purpose (Ephesians 1:9 & 3:11) You are overcoming and persevering. (1 John 4:4 and Philippians 3:14) Nothing in all creation can ever separate you from the love of God. (Romans 8:38-39) Hold fast to these indisputable, insurmountable Truths. Cling, my friends, to who you ARE.
