Good Morning, and welcome to The Jerseytown Tavern! We continue having difficulties getting internet service at the Tavern, and so finding an opportunity to post on Facebook has been interesting….but here I go!! We continue enjoying this new venture, and daily learn new things to help us in building the Tavern. We are looking to provide the best possible food from our purveyors, and then prepare it for you in a manner that will bring you back for more! Last weekend, we ran Delmonico steaks instead of the usual NY strip, and boy!! Were they ever beautiful! We quickly sold out of every one of them! We continue getting rave reviews for the changes we made in the J-Town Crab Cake recipe as well.¬¬¬ One gentleman stopped in to ask about them, claiming his wife was the ultimate critic. He then brought her in to try them. I felt like we were getting a Michelin Food Critic evaluation!! Well, I hovered nearby her table, waiting for the verdict… and Madame Critic gave us a 2-Thumbs up, stating, “Don’t change a thing….they’re perfect!!” So, thank you, everyone, for your support and feedback!! The Alfredo sauce used for Saturday night’s special was exquisite! Michele, a faithful Tavern supporter, said it was wonderful. I had my taste on an AJ special, wherein he dipped a deep-fried chicken breast in the sauce and placed it on a shaved ham bed nestled on a Kaiser roll….oh, my!! Can you tell I’m enjoying the taste-testing portion of my job? Thanks again to Naïve Americans!! Bob, Bobby, Dillon and Steve did a great job, and everyone really enjoyed themselves!! More bands in the future! We will be doing several different specials for this weekend, including a Surf-and-Turf, including a petite 8 ounce NY strip along with skewered shrimp. Also, there will be some type of pasta special as well…more on that later!! Blessings to all!! Come on out and see us!! Jay
