Good Sunday morning Fort Bragg Facebook followers. If just now climbing out of bed and looking to venture outside, you’ll find it much cooler than yesterday and somewhat less humid. The frontal system we originally expected to be over the area bringing us periods of heavy rain throughout the weekend, happily moved further south and east. With this new development, we actually have much cooler temperatures and though we still have a chance of afternoon showers/thunderstorms, the highest threat is more to our east and south. Today, we’re now expecting mostly cloudy skies throughout the day with winds from the northeast around 10mph and high temperatures only in the low 70’s with a much lower humidity. We do have a slight chance of afternoon showers today and tomorrow but with the cold front to our south, the chances of one developing over you is much less than previously thought. Also worthy of a weather note, Tropical Storm Edouard is expected to strengthen to a possible Category 2 Hurricane but is expected to stay well east of Bermuda and not affect the Continental United States at all. The weather station is currently closed but will open tonight at Midnight. The first Local Range Forecast will be issued around 0530L tomorrow morning.
