Good Sunday morning to all. hope you are all enjoying your weekend. What a difference a week makes. My cabinets were to ship last Monday. When I called to check the status, I got a run-around. Immediately after I hung up with my contractor, a detective from St Johns County Sheriffs office called me. He said he was investigating my contractor for fraud. Apparently 16 people, me included, though I didnt know it at that point were being defrauded. I was numb. So bottom line is, the project is on hold, the contractor filed for bankruptcy and I am out a lot of money! Ive decided to go forward with the project (it is already started, having the electrical panel moved...I have a big hole in my dining room wall). Yesterday I spent 3 1/2 hours at Lowes, with a designer. I need to cancel my appliances since they wont fit the new design. Tomorrow I have the electrical contractor coming back to finish up some connections and I have another contractor coming to discuss demoing the kitchen. I will use my own contractors as much as I can. I would hope Lowes isnt going to pull this kind of thing. Ive spoken with a lawyer, my financial adviser, my electrical contractor, my handyman, and I need to report the incident to the JSO (different county so different jurisdiction). with all that, a friend and I had purchased tix to a concert for Nov 8th, Three Dog Night! I went, what a fantastic concert and what a way to end probably one of the worst weeks Ive had in a long time. I think it was my brother Russ who introduced me to Three Dog Night way, way back, the die Elis coming and One and Celebrate! Awesome evening. Thanks, Mary for being my friend. Preethi for keeping it under your hat last week. Randy, for helping me with the finances, Karol, for the legal advise, Susan for being a friend. It was rough, and then the washing machine broke. So with the car the week before, I think thats three. Im looking forward to a more calm week and I may just, finally sit down and cry my eyes out! Everyone have good week and God bless.
