Good Tuesday Morning! Im in for Matt today. After yesterdays bout with winter, temperatures this morning safely above the freezing mark, therefore, all precipitation we get today will be all rain. This afternoon, we don’t expect a constant stream of rainfall but be mindful that at any one time you could see a passing shower over your corner of the Heart of Virginia this afternoon. A northeast wind will continue to be present in the forecast, thus keeping the wedge in play today. Temps in the low to mid 40s in Central and Southside Virginia, while temps climb to near 50 in the NRV on the verge of the wedge. Temps outside of the wedge today, could reach the mid 50s. Overnight, the steady rain will once again arrive out ahead of our next storm system. Rain this evening could be quite heavy and accumulate quite rapidly… with an inch or two of rain likely before ending later Wednesday night. All precipitation comes in the form of rain, as winds start to turn from the south. Christmas Day looks windy and seasonably cold, with highs in the 40s. Some mountain snow showers are possible, but we do not expect any snow in Central or Southside Virginia. Friday looks like the nicest day this week, with sunshine and highs in the 50s. Saturday also looks dry and mild before a few rain showers develop for Sunday.
