Good Wednesday morning ECWW peeps..........and DAYUM was it cold - TopicsExpress

Good Wednesday morning ECWW peeps..........and DAYUM was it cold last night!!! Temps across the area were EASILY in the teens with some areas actually in the single digits. The winds surely didnt help yesterday and while not as strong last night they DID persist. The good news today is that, despite high temps today barely getting above freezing, the winds wont be quite as brutal. As we move through the next few days into the weekend temps will stay colder than normal as high pressure moves eastward over our area. HOWEVER........once the high moves off the mid-Atlantic coast on Sunday were going to see a quick shot of warm air invading our area. Northeast PA, north-central PA, central PA and western PA as well as western MD will top out in the 50s on Sunday, and then 60s in SEPA and the Lehigh Valley as well as northern Jersey, and 70s (yes I said 70s) in south Jersey, DE, and eastern MD. The warmth is short-lived, however, as an area of low pressure brings rain to our entire area later in the day Sunday through the overnight and into Monday morning. As we mentioned in our Winter outlook, the long-range models are indeed indicating a moderation in temperatures from Thanksgiving through the first few weeks of December before we really sink in to Winter. One thing to be thankful for is that we havent had to deal with the SICK amounts of snow that fell in western New York from lake-effect snows. FIVE TO SIX FEET in some of these areas......and theyre about to get beat up again today into tomorrow with another ONE TO TWO FEET. Yikes. Have a great day everyone......and I leave you with a time-lapse video of the lake effect snows in Buffalo. Chris youtube/watch?v=KA9XNRHxKbg
