Good afternoon. As you know we are committed to flight safety and ensuring that each and every flight is safe for us to take. What you may not realize is all of the safety equipment that we utilize to do this. The first priority is ensuring we have a properly maintained aircraft and here at Native Air/Air Methods, that means we have a certified aviation mechanic that works at our base full time. He keeps our helicopter in tip top shape at all times. The next step is our pilots who evaluate all aspects of a flight before we take it. Native Air/Air Methods only hires experienced pilots and here at our base, our current 3 full time pilots assigned to here have 47years of combined flying experience. Some of the technologies that we utilize while in flight is night vision goggles for all of our night time flights, and are worn by all flight crew members. Every helicopter is fitted with terrain collision warning systems to ensure we are not getting to close to the ground. We have onboard GPS navigation to guide us to where we need to go. Each aircraft is fitted with onboard weather radar so what we can see what the weather around us is doing as we are flying. Each aircraft is also fitted with satellite tracking so that our communications center along with our Operational Control Center can see where each and every aircraft is at in real time. Speaking of our Operational Control Center they have at least 1 pilot there at all times monitoring all of our flights. If they see that we are getting into bad weather or some other unfavorable situation they can call us on our onboard satellite phone. That enables them to share that information with us and aid us out of any unfavorable situations.
