Good afternoon all from sunny Cancun This is my unofficial facebook blog.. Here is my update from Honduras, Guatemala and travelling to Mexico.. I cant believe its been over 2 months since my last update, a couple of days before my 31st birthday. Well its been a crazy couple of months since then.. To start we entered Honduras and stayed in Copan and had a few nights there to visit the Copan ruins which were so interesting and have so much history and loads of artistic detail on the ruins.. I also celebrated my 31st birthday.. Yes I know Im getting old... This was a great time spent with Jeff & Kim, but sadly we parted ways at the end.. From Copan we travelled east to Utila, a little island off the coast of Honduras which specialises in diving.. We had 5 nights there and also completed our open water dive course which was amazing.. BICD were such a professional firm and the course and dives were awesome.. The next couple of days were travel, from Utila in Honduras to Puerto Barrios in Guatemala, where we spent a night, then the next day to Guatemala City and straight on to Antigua.. Antigua is a beautiful city based in the middle of 3 volcanos. It has a very Spanish feel about the place and we had great fun here. Next up was San Pedro La Laguna in Guatemala. This is where we took our 5 day Spanish school. Jaclyn definitely improved a lot more than me.. But overall it was a great experience to learn from the local people. What made San Pedro La Laguna even more special for us was the week long stay with Francisco, Maria and Fatima, who did not speak a word of English, so it forced us to practice our Spanish which was great.. There was also a few nights of parties and Jeff and Kim met up with us for the final time.. Finally after a week in San Pedro La Laguna, starting at 5am Sunday morning we had our longest journey ever! 1st a ferry, then a bus to the border of Mexico, then another bus to San Cristóbal in Mexico, which arrived at 3pm. We had a quick pizza then caught the next bus from San Cristóbal to Cancun at 5pm which arrived at 12pm Monday afternoon.. 30 hours of travel and we finally arrived at Hostel Kabeh.. My Cancun and Mexico City update will hopefully come sometime this week.. Also a whole load of photos should follow soon.. All my best El Gringo
