The ridge will gradually weaken during Sunday, before being reinforced by a new high pressure system that will move in to the Tasman Sea from Monday. Forecast for the rest of Saturday Fine and clear across much of the state with only some showers about the east coast and adjacent inland areas south of about Gladstone. A slight chance of some showers developing about the North Tropical Coast late in the evening. Moderate to fresh northeast to southeast winds. Sunday 19 October Fine and sunny across much of the state. Some showers about the east coast, mainly about the central and northern coasts, particularly the Cassowary Coast. A slight chance of light showers about the southern coast south of Gladstone in the morning. Fine, dry and sunny over the remainder of the state. Moderate to fresh northeast to southeast winds.
