Good afternoon members and friends of WCHS, We are co-sponsoring a Black History Month event at the Jay Heritage Center in Rye on Saturday, February 8, 2014, from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. The event will feature two outstanding speakers. Dr. Myra Young Armstead, Professor of History and Director of Africana Studies at Bard College, will discuss her book, Freedoms Gardener: James F. Brown, Horticulture and the Hudson Valley in Antebellum America. David Pultz, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, will preview his film, The Bones Speak: The Spring Street Story. The Jay Heritage Center is located at 210 Boston Post Road in Rye.
