Good evening Santa Cruz artists. I am calling out to all artists that might be interested in showing their ART at our Music, Dance and ART festival called the Night of the Living Dance. Its an 8hr show on Oct 25th at the tannery. We have over 100 of custom wall space that we have built to showcase the local visual artists of Santa Cruz. So far we have 26 visual artists confirmed. Jansens video game development background has translated well into graphic design, digital art, and motion graphics for live music and DJs. I use templates, stencils, and found objects to achieve unique edges and shapes on the body. Creating long drawn out gradients of colors and layers make this a very different form of body paintings. icaruszaure/ ~Ja Gold frominfinity/ ~Metatronika (Ryan McCrory) I have been exploring the world of energy for many of years now and most likely many lifetimes. In 2007, after years of meditation and other experimental avenues towards source, I had an experience that blasted open my channels and chakras in a most complex series of events that connected me to a piece of myself that I have not known on earth for a very long time. It was a bit confusing, yet unbelievably blissful, and took many years to understand. I was able to see the flower of life around plants and people, and within them was the sacred geometrical shapes called the platonic solids. Ultimately this experience opened me up into the world of feeling and seeing chi, prana, or the aether. I then started creating these sacred shapes with twisted copper wire, which act as an antennae for chi, and formed them into the most basic and fundamental building blocks of creation; the platonic solids. These forms ignite memories in those who gaze upon them into the nature of themselves. Our energy fields, and the energy fields of all life, contain these forms within them. I have always enjoyed drawing but started formal training 13 years ago. I attended UCSC and the Academy of Art in San Francisco. I create custom paintings, drawings. This includes framed canvases, individually created shoes, logos for businesses or groups, clothing, large murals, freehand sketches, and designs for tattoos, ipods, surf, snow or skateboards. Fishing, waves, love and of course good music have always been an energy that runs through my paintings. I consider myself a self taught artist with some inspiring teachers along the way. I create spontaneously through the energy of music and my surroundings. The combinations of a few basic repeating patterns are truly infinite and I have always found solace and peace with these never-ending creations. I am a self-taught artist and love working with henna paste and other types of mediums (canvas, acrylic, pen & ink, body art paints and tattoo design) to create self-expressive art all based on perfect flow and movement within the design itself. Merging this, with ancient traditional henna patterning, to achieve something the eye looses itself within is my ultimate goal. Through Laurens pieces of work the human figure is used to communicate with the lines that are playing and dancing on the surface of the medium. She works in all mediums using her intuition as her main power. Her imagery comes from deep meditative states that she has been able to access since childhood. Wild life, intense colors, alternate dimensions, the divine feminine, and alchemy are themes seen in her work.
