Good late afternoon Pure Michigan. Got on the move yesterday and headed east first stop St. Helen the birth place of Charles Hesston. Next Pittaway’s paddlers spent the night. Up early in the morning went for a walk seen this old log house, next McMasters Bridge where the AuSable River run under it. The Ausable river host the Ausable Canoe Marathon the last fully weekend of July, this year is the 66th annual race. Now u all says big deal! let me tell you about the Ausable marathon, one hundred twenty mile non-stop paddling, so what? Well the marathon is done at night. The marathon starts at 9 p.m. In Grayling and ends in Oscoda, that would be right at Lake Huron. And by the way u all have 19 hours to do it in. All takers are welcome. On the way back seen that Aera log trail looked past-a-bull so down I went. Get down there and I find I’m at Beaver bend lodge, dada new road private property, oh well found the old trail started the climb up, found the old cars, I was looking for to start with. They have been on this trail forever. Enjoy the pictures, in real life the view is way better. Just saying, love to all.
