Good morning, A wet start to the day for Northern Ireland with - TopicsExpress

Good morning, A wet start to the day for Northern Ireland with persistent rain and frequent heavy showers affecting North West Scotland. Further south into England and Wales there is a mixture of sunshine and showers. At the moment the showers are more widespread across parts of Wales, extending in to the West Midlands. For other areas there are some mainly light isolated showers although most of England will see sunny intervals with moderate cloud cover at times. As we head towards this afternoon the rain affecting Northern Ireland will extend eastwards bringing a further spell of wet weather across much of Northern England. The heaviest of the rainfall is expected across North West England and around the Scottish borders. There is a risk of the odd thunderstorm developing across North West England and central parts of Northern England as this system moves through. For the rest of England and Wales showers will become more organised and frequent through this afternoon although certainly not as heavy or as prolonged as those across the North. In between showers it will feel pleasant if youre lucky enough to get some decent breaks in the cloud. Todays highest temperatures are expected across East Anglia and South East England with maximums of 16, possibly 17c. For South West England, Wales, West Midlands, Yorkshire & Lincolnshire temperatures will range from 12-14c. Cooler further North under persistent rain with maximums of 11c expected across the far North of England and Scotland. Have a lovely day, Lewis
